This is the next suggested topic from the reviewer of my Oracle card guidebook. I am writing this blog in advance because I am on vacation this week. Hopefully this isn’t a topic I will be needing as this publishes.

Sometimes in life we just need to survive. Just settle in and wait for the storm to pass. There are moments in life where there is nothing left to do other than protect yourself and survive it. The phrase “this too shall pass” comes to mind. You aren’t safe to jump out into the storm and try and control it. You are just meant to stay safe and out of the way.

Insightful Inspiration of the week

If you are feeling like you just can’t stand up any more, that is okay. Take a step back with the people you feel the most love and support from and just settle in. Shelter yourself from the opinions, struggles, and chaos of the world. Let things blow over and return to a calmer state. You will survive and if you don’t you will get another chance in the next life.

I am writing a guidebook for an Oracle deck. Something I was doing as a fun project. I sent the book to someone to review and she suggested a couple of cards to add in. And as with all the other cards in the deck, the inspirations were first born on the blog. So I am going to do the same for these topics. The first one being savoring things.

As we rush through our lives we often don’t stop to notice and enjoy the good things in life. We are rushing ourselves through the experiences to hurry up to the next one. What are we rushing to? Something we would find more enjoyable than this moment. We are seeking moment in time where we feel fulfilled, full and happy. But if we never stop to savor where we are, we never find the things that help us feel that way. This is basically like running on a hamster wheel.

If we stop and enjoy the tastes, the smells, the moments, we will begin to notice we are already full. We are already the exact experience we need to and there is nowhere to rush to. When we savor moments it slows things down, softens them and makes them lighter. Go ahead, give it a try.

Insightful Inspiration of the Week

Savor the moment. Find something really good about today and hold on to it. Relish in it. Feel it in every cell of your body. Let yourself be nourished by the gifts around you. Calm your energy with this pause and notice how it clarifies and tones your perspective, not just about what you are savoring right now, but about everything else as well.

What is the first thing you do when you hurt your hand? You shake it and rub it. That is your natural response to disperse the excess energy that caused the pain to begin with. Shaking actually helps release energy and restore you to a more natural state.

You can use this concept for other things in your life. If you are struggling with a situation that hit you quickly and you felt unprepared, give it some time and think about healthy ways to shake off the energy. Some examples of how you might shake off the energy include exercise, talking to a friend, meditating, or expressing emotion. If you don’t shake off the energy, it piles up on you and makes the next situation feel all that more overwhelming.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Shake it off. For the situations that are impacting you this week, consciously shake off the energy in a way you find enjoyable. You already do this naturally, but by bringing awareness to it, you are enhancing its healing affects. Try this visualization. Visualize a tree that represents you, covered in snow, representing the energy of the situation. This tree has so much snow on it that its branches are bending and are overwhelmed. Now imagine shaking that tree. Allowing all the snow to fall off those branches, popping up the branches back into their strong, unburdened state.

We play with our energy so unconsciously sometimes we don’t even know what we are doing until it’s done. It is like eating half a pint of ice cream before noticing! Now think what that would do to your hips (or thighs, or where ever you prefer to put on weight). Same goes for not taking in enough food. If you are too busy to eat all of the time, you will get too thin to be healthy.

The same thing is happening to your energy field. Without proper exercise, maintenance, and awareness we all get energetically out of whack. Putting too much burden on our energy systems or too little.

Like you body type, the amount of energy you actually need is different for everyone. Some people are naturally heavy and some naturally light and where you store that energy differs too. But the point is that you can manage a healthy energetic weight by bring awareness to it.

Insightful Inspirations for the week

Get yourself on a healthy energy plan. Find time to connect with yourself, play with your energy or exercise it and pay attention to when you are unconsciously taking on too much or too little. Think of it like a meal and plan for it. Work with it, move it, become friends with it. You can get involved in the more complicated techniques to balance your chakras and aura, if you have the time and energy. But you would be better off spending a little time with yourself every day than trying to cram in a completely new way of living all at once and then quit all together. Just like a diet.

Today is going to be what I would call, a “mentally messy” day. These are the kinds of days where you get in your head and rummage around, trying to make sense of things. The messiest part of it is that it is about things that I think I already had figured out.

Do you feel like sometimes you are trying so hard to get it, then you do, and then it falls apart again only to discover another layer you haven’t figured out yet? It may even completely disprove what you thought you already knew. Does that mean you were wrong in the first place? Of course not. It was right at the time, things have just shifted. If you could let go of the mental space of it, you would quickly see there is magic in the movement. The mind is a tricky thing and you can’t trust it. That is why it is always helpful to go deeper with yourself. Have the conversations beyond the mental space. Move into the knowing, being, presence of it all.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

See where things get mentally messy for you. Notice, when you are getting “in your head” about the issue. That part of you that says you must weigh all of your options, understand the situation, or mentally massage the outcome. See if you can just watch and be a witness to your own mind. Pay attention to how quickly your mind can take over and unground you in the reality of the situation. Check in with the imbalance of power within yourself. Bring yourself back to center with it and let the mind work in concert with your spirit and your body. This is the power of all that you are. You are not just your thoughts, but they are a powerful force in your life. Take note and use that power to create the life you want not the life you think you should have.

This week I witnessed an eighth grade girl coming out of all day suspension for having her hair dyed. I must mention, her hair looked professionally done and quite cute, in my opinion. But her lack of “natural hair color” earned her a day away from her class. This girl goes to a gifted school for highly intelligent children, by the way. Do you think she noticed when her principle, with her hair obviously dyed, came out and said “fix your hair honey, so you can go back to class tomorrow.”?

Honestly, I think we all have a bit of hypocrisy running through us. We judge someone else for something we do. We tell our kids, friends, family not to do the very thing we do. We have told ourselves that hypocrisy is bad and we would never do it, yet we do. So there must be a pay off.

Maybe it is just that the world is a reflection of us. It is easier to work things out in our own mind if we are looking at is as a third party. If we learn to look ourselves with neutrality and less emotionally, we might begin to be able to shift the judgment of each other and simply work on improving ourselves.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

See if you can find something you are being hypocritical about. Is there something you tell someone else not to do, that you yourself do? You might need to get a little abstract here. It might not be a direct one to one relationship. Here is an example: Let’s say that you judge your friend for being judgmental of people who are uneducated. You think that it is a terrible bias. What are you judging someone else for that may be a terrible bias as well… maybe it is how people parent, or people who don’t take care of their yard, or people who don’t work as hard as you think they should at work. You too are judging, probably unfairly.

See if you can take in the awareness of this energy. Notice the thing it is lighting up within you. Offer it a little healing and release it, without judgment, to be transmuted into whatever it is trying to become. And most of all let you off the hook about things like being a hypocrite. No one is perfect, thank goodness. How boring would that be?!

As I work out decisions and issues in my lives I see the issue with having so many choices. We want freedom to choose and the options available, but sometimes all of those options cause stress. The question becomes is it more stress to have the options or NOT to have the options. I personally still prefer the struggle over the options vs. the limitations. I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know myself and what I do want, when presented the choices.

Sometimes people turn to me to answer these questions on choices for them. I understand the lure of it. I wish I had all of the answers and knew the BEST choice at all times. But the truth is, sometimes the best choice is the “wrong” choice, because it takes us where we want to go on a level we couldn’t do with our thinking mind A friend of mine gave me an article today about how people can get addicted to having someone else tell them what to do next, aka calling psychic hotlines. I don’t have a psychic hotline… in fact, I don’t charge by the minute and I rarely work with anyone without an appointment. But, I do still see people lured into the idea that someone else might be able to tell them what decision to make.

If you have had a reading with me, you know I don’t give you any answers, just information about the energy regarding each of your choices. Then you are free to choose as you wish. That being said sometimes it is helpful to get another energetic perspective in that regard. But never to take away from your own intuition on what is right.

Insightful Inspiration of the week

Take a pressing matter you have in your mind right now. Something you think you “should” decide on soon. Maybe it is about a relationship, a job, or just what to have for dinner. Layout all of your options on a piece of paper. Listen to yourself about these choices. Have a conversation with yourself.

Is the issue that you feel you don’t have enough choices or you have too many? How can you give yourself more choices? Get creative. There are always new ideas to be had in regards to choices. If you have too many, are there ones that are just there because you want to weigh all of the options? Do you really need them on your list?

Do you have to decide right now? Can you wait until things get a little clearer?

How does each choice feel in your body. Does your stomach clench up when you think about doing it? Does your energy feel lighter when you think of that choice?

Breath deeply into the choices you have and see if anyone feels more peaceful than the rest.

See if you can just step back now from the decision and come back to it later. Not to be procrastinating, but to let yourself see things as they unfold after you spend some time with it. Let yourself off of the hook a little bit too. If this seems like a challenging decision do get some perspective. Ask a for help, find a counselor, minister, or someone you can trust to help you get some perspective. There is no harm in asking for help from your guides and the universe either.

Have a fabulous week!

When people come for a session with me they get an energy bath. I clean off patterns that are not supportive, foreign energy, other people in your space. Etc. This give people the sense of lightness, ease, and peace that helps them stand in their own power.

But it is even more important for everyone to learn good energetic hygiene for themselves. It is like taking a shower or brushing your teeth. You wouldn’t go years without doing that! Yet many of us neglect our energy fields and don’t acknowledge the power it has over how we feel and what we can accomplish.

The problem is none of us were trained to wash our energy. So you might need a little guidance, just to get your conscious mind around what it means to “clean” your energy field. There are books out there that you can get about these topics. There are classes you can take online and in person. The resources are out there and I highly encourage you to use them.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Establish a daily energetic cleansing technique for yourself and commit to doing it for at least a week. Notice what shifts as you do this. Here are some ideas on what you could do (it doesn’t have to take long). I always encourage you to explore what works for you and come up with your own technique.

Phase one: Grounding

Visualize a grounding cord from your tail bone, dropping down to the center of the earth and connecting. Then open up as wide as your hips, making it hollow for full release.

Go outside and site in the grass with your socks off.

Visualize growing roots out of your butt and your feet, into the earth, feel the roots bringing nourishment back into your body from the earth.

Phase two: Cleansing

Visualize a silver shower, rinsing away any energy that is not supporting you.

Sit in the sun and take in the warmth allowing it to release any energy that is not supporting you.

Rub your hands together and then pull them apart just an inch. Feel the energy surging between them, then use your hands to wipe off any energetic debris.

Phase three: Filling in

Imagine a huge, golden sun above your head, calling all your energy from all directions in time back into it and then draining the golden energy into the top of your head, into your entire body and space around you.

Feel the spark of divine light in your belly button and allow it to expand and fill in your body and space around you.

Notice a source of light above your head, allow that light to shine into your body and the space around you.

Phase four: Shielding

Imagine a rose in front of you, representing your energy, just outside your space. Ground it to the center of the earth and let it collect up all the energy of the world and process it for you.

Surround yourself with white light.

Use hematite jewelry or some other material that represents protection for you and allow it to shield your energy throughout the day.

Share you techniques with us on Facebook. If you have had an energy bath with me, share with us how that helped you in your daily life and give your insights on how your attention to this fact can help you going forward.

I was going to call this post the dilemma of an over-doer. But I thought is it really possible to have too MANY opportunities? As I talk with friends who are wives, mothers, and or workers of the world. I hear all of these stories about how much they have to do. Me included. As I start to look at all the things I am busy with, it isn’t always what I want to be busy with, but think I SHOULD be busy with. (the dreaded should!)

My kids have the opportunity to be in this sport, that club, go to this party, etc. I in turn get invited to events, asked to do things, and participate in random things here and there. I feel like I am presented with so many options of things to be involved with. Don’t even get me started on the volunteering I do… that is an endless pit all by itself. But I can feel a twinge of guilt pop up if I don’t take advantage of all of the opportunities. What better do I have to do? Just sit at home! EEK.

What I am seeing now is we have been brought up from a world of lack. We didn’t have what we wanted or we were trained we never would. It was unreasonable to expect it. “don’t complain later if you change your mind” So we end up scooping up all the opportunities that come, for fear we will regret not doing it. We overwhelm ourselves, deplete ourselves and ultimately forget the gratitude that we once had for these opportunities individually.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Notice all the “opportunities” you are taking advantage of just because you feel you should. Maybe it is even something fun, like being invited to a party, even though you know last night you promised you were going to just stay home and rest for a few days. Try saying no, with the realization that new opportunities will come, when it is time.

If you can’t relate to the dilemma of an over doer… your inspiration is to see where you can say yes to one more thing. It is all about balance.

Tell me how it goes.

There is one thing that overwhelmingly comes up in the healings I do for other people… People can not be moved into a place they are not ready for. I can try and heal them, clear them, advise them and tell them their likely path but it won’t help them be somewhere they aren’t. It merely supports them to be where they are. So why bother? Because you can’t go anywhere until you are somewhere. When I offer a healing to someone, I am offering them grounding, presence and the ability to have more of the NOW.

What does this mean? It means that most of the time we spend trying to propel ourselves forward to some place other than where we are. We are always on the go, moving towards news goals, executing plans and “improving” ourselves. But if we never stop to enjoy where we are, we are always chasing our tails. We can’t put ourselves in alignment with our highest good, unless we take time to notice what that even is. This is the real reason a lot of spiritual practices talk about being still and meditating or praying. It is because most of us don’t slow down long enough to listen to ourselves and just be.

I am not saying stop moving forward and setting goals. What I am saying is to try and be grateful for where you are first. This gives you a sense of direction. If you don’t first notice where you are, you can’t get up enough energy to go where you want. It is like looking at a map for directions without knowing where you are. It is all just random roads and landmarks that mean nothing.

Insightful Inspiration of the Week

Notice where you are. Be with that feeling and send gratitude towards it. When you are setting goals this week, first map out where you have come to. List out your accomplishments, your amazing life and notice where you are now. Are you fed? Are you warm? Are you in clothes that you like and picked out from a closet of clothes? Your life is amazing no matter where you are at. Bring yourself fully into that amazing part of yourself and the only place you will choose to go on the map from here is to more amazing places. If you are directly conscious efforts to where you are, you will have more awareness of where you are going and make choices about those directions.

You are not in complete control, but that is the fun part! You never know what is coming next, but once it does you can just be with it.

It is great to set goals and make visions for the future, but this week, try and focus on where you are, not where you want to go. Even if you can only do it for a few minutes a day. As always, you are encouraged to share!
