Good energetic hygiene

Feb 26
2010

When people come for a session with me they get an energy bath.  I clean off patterns that are not supportive, foreign energy, other people in your space. Etc. This give people the sense of lightness, ease, and peace that helps them stand in their own power.

But it is even more important for everyone to learn good energetic hygiene for themselves. It is like taking a shower or brushing your teeth. You wouldn’t go years without doing that! Yet many of us neglect our energy fields and don’t acknowledge the power it has over how we feel and what we can accomplish.

The problem is none of us were trained to wash our energy. So you might need a little guidance, just to get your conscious mind around what it means to “clean” your energy field. There are books out there that you can get about these topics. There are classes you can take online and in person. The resources are out there and I highly encourage you to use them.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Establish a daily energetic cleansing technique for yourself and commit to doing it for at least a week. Notice what shifts as you do this. Here are some ideas on what you could do (it doesn’t have to take long). I always encourage you to explore what works for you and come up with your own technique.

Phase one: Grounding

  • Visualize a grounding cord from your tail bone, dropping down to the center of the earth and connecting. Then open up as wide as your hips, making it hollow for full release.
  • Go outside and site in the grass with your socks off.
  • Visualize growing roots out of your butt and your feet, into the earth, feel the roots bringing nourishment back into your body from the earth.

Phase two: Cleansing

  • Visualize a silver shower, rinsing away any energy that is not supporting you.
  • Sit in the sun and take in the warmth allowing it to release any energy that is not supporting you.
  • Rub your hands together and then pull them apart just an inch. Feel the energy surging between them, then use your hands to wipe off any energetic debris.

Phase three: Filling in

  • Imagine a huge, golden sun above your head, calling all your energy from all directions in time back into it and then draining the golden energy into the top of your head, into your entire body and space around you.
  • Feel the spark of divine light in your belly button and allow it to expand and fill in your body and space around you.
  • Notice a source of light above your head, allow that light to shine into your body and the space around you.

Phase four: Shielding

  • Imagine a rose in front of you, representing your energy, just outside your space. Ground it to the center of the earth and let it collect up all the energy of the world and process it for you.
  • Surround yourself with white light.
  • Use hematite jewelry or some other material that represents protection for you and allow it to shield your energy throughout the day.

Share you techniques with us on Facebook. If you have had an energy bath with me, share with us how that helped you in your daily life and give your insights on how your attention to this fact can help you going forward.

Too MANY opportunities?

Jan 08
2010

I was going to call this post the dilemma of an over-doer. But I thought is it really possible to have too MANY opportunities? As I talk with friends who are wives, mothers, and or workers of the world. I hear all of these stories about how much they have to do. Me included. As I start to look at all the things I am busy with, it isn’t always what I want to  be busy with, but think I SHOULD be busy with. (the dreaded should!)

My kids have the opportunity to be in this sport, that club, go to this party, etc. I in turn get invited to events, asked to do things, and participate in random things here and there. I feel like I am presented with so many options of things to be involved with. Don’t even get me started on the volunteering I do… that is an endless pit all by itself. But I can feel a twinge of guilt pop up if I don’t take advantage of all of the opportunities. What better do I have to do? Just sit at home! EEK.

What I am seeing now is we have been brought up from a world of lack. We didn’t have what we wanted or we were trained we never would. It was unreasonable to expect it. “don’t complain later if you change your mind” So we end up scooping up all the opportunities that come, for fear we will regret not doing it. We overwhelm ourselves, deplete ourselves and ultimately forget the gratitude that we once had for these opportunities individually.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Notice all the “opportunities” you are taking advantage of just because you feel you should. Maybe it is even something fun, like being invited to a party, even though you know last night you promised you were going to just stay home and rest for a few days. Try saying no, with the realization that new opportunities will come, when it is time.

If you can’t relate to the dilemma of an over doer… your inspiration is to see where you can say yes to one more thing. It is all about balance.

Tell me how it goes.

You can’t go anywhere until you are somewhere.

Nov 03
2009

There is one thing that overwhelmingly comes up in the healings I do for other people… People can not be moved into a place they are not ready for. I can try and heal them, clear them, advise them and tell them their likely path but it won’t help them be somewhere they aren’t. It merely supports them to be where they are. So why bother?  Because you can’t go anywhere until you are somewhere. When I offer a healing to someone, I am offering them grounding, presence and the ability to have more of the NOW.

What does this mean? It means that most of the time we spend trying to propel ourselves forward to some place other than where we are. We are always on the go, moving towards news goals, executing plans and “improving” ourselves. But if we never stop to enjoy where we are, we are always chasing our tails. We can’t put ourselves in alignment with our highest good,  unless we take time to notice what that even is. This is the real reason a lot of spiritual practices talk about being still and meditating or praying. It is because most of us don’t slow down long enough to listen to ourselves and just be.

I am not saying stop moving forward and setting goals. What I am saying is to try and be grateful for where you are first. This gives you a sense of direction. If you don’t first notice where you are, you can’t get up enough energy to go where you want. It is like looking at a map for directions without knowing where you are. It is all just random roads and landmarks that mean nothing.

Insightful Inspiration of the Week

Notice where you are. Be with that feeling and send gratitude towards it. When you are setting goals this week, first map out where you have come to. List out your accomplishments, your amazing life and notice where you are now. Are you fed? Are you warm? Are you in clothes that you like and picked out from a closet of clothes?  Your life is amazing no matter where you are at. Bring yourself fully into that amazing part of yourself and the only place you will choose to go on the map from here is to more amazing places. If you are directly conscious efforts to where you are, you will have more awareness of where you are going and make choices about those directions.

You are not in complete control, but that is the fun part! You never know what is coming next, but once it does you can just be with it.

It is great to set goals and make visions for the future, but this week, try and focus on where you are, not where you want to go. Even if you can only do it for a few minutes a day. As always, you are encouraged to share!

Take Care of Yourself

Oct 07
2009

Normally I try to stay a little more high level on life issues and not get too time specific. Today though, I want to send out some reassurance, as a lot of us are experiencing major upheavals in our bodies and lives. There are some major shifts going on right now. I am not an astrologer, so I can only tell you what I am experiencing and what my other intuitive friends are sharing. This is intense energy and we are ALL feeling it.

Right now is a time of ends. Ending of past patterns and beliefs that are no longer serving us. There is more job loss, divorce, death, etc. going on right now as a result. But even if it is not a major life altering end on the outside, it is still going on. You may be experiencing fatigue, dizziness, fogginess, random illnesses, etc. There is a lot of unconscious clearing going on for all of us right now and it is going to be a great thing in the end. We just have to make it to the other side, without resisting. We have to clear the garden to grow even more beautiful plants.

Share your experiences with each other, so you know we are not alone. Post in the comments what is happening with you. If any of you are not experiencing this, please comment. I would love to hear too.

Insightful Inspirations for the week

If you need a nap, take a nap. If you need to take a day or week off, do it. Take care of yourself right now. Nothing is WRONG with you, you are just having to let go of old patterns that you have been using for so long. It feels like a death of sorts, which obviously can be uncomfortable. Notice what you are going through and try and keep yourself grounded. If you are not able to feel grounded, call a friend, get involved with a group. I garuntee you are  not the only one and it will help you work through it.

Give yourself permission to go inward and listen to what you really want right now. Honor that and know you are doing the best you can right now.

Email me or post if you have questions. I am off to take a nap! :)

How to feel worthy even when rejected

Sep 30
2009

A lot of people are going through the unemployment and divorce life crisis right now. Both of which can leave you feeling rejected and unwanted. There are periods in our life when we feel like people only like us for what we can give them, not because they authentically like us. We are angry because we feel used and alone in our most vulnerable times of need.

Yes, I am going to say, even this is for a reason. There are several things going on here. First, sometimes we established relationships with people based on something we give them and when we want to test the relationship by taking that thing away, we are shocked to find the relationship falls apart. For example, new jobs. You go into the interview, probably promising your devotion, hard work and endless talent. You get the job, then kill yourself for months working hard to prove yourself. Then the steam starts to run out and you realize what you did was over promise your love and over do your expectation setting on the level of work you could sustain long term. You blew your wad, if it were. Then your work quality starts to go down, although it might be more reasonable, it isn’t what you promised originally and your employer is feeling annoyed. You feel like “what the heck, I have been killing myself for this person”. Yeah… and that is what they began to expect! You could apply this to your friendships, your relationships, anything. Did you promise something you couldn’t sustain. Why didn’t you just promise what you could authentically do in the first place and accept that that is enough? You would have been better off to be rejected in the first place, then burn out your energy trying to be somewhere you don’t fit.

Another scenario is that sometimes we are meant to be alone to work through some things. Although right now, all we want in the world is someone to hold us and tell us it will be okay, that person isn’t there for a reason. You are meant to deal with things alone so you face them and work through them in your own energy. Other people will put “fix it” energy in our space in a time we need to just  be with something and so sometimes we need space, even if we don’t want it.

My point is, realize that every scenario is not a punishment to victimize you (yet again) in the world. It is there to teach you about your authentic, powerful self and highlight the beliefs and situations that you give your power to. It is there to help you stand tall in your own space, no matter what. You can use this rejected energy to curl up in a ball and feel sorry for yourself, or you can put that energy into healing your fears and self worth issues that have brought you here in the first place, so that you can go to new places in the future and not replay old patterns.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Embrace every moment as a teaching, healing moment. Where do you feel rejected? (even in the slightest) What is coming up in this rejection? Do you feel alone? Abused? Used? Under valued? Why is this a bad feeling for you? Is this true? Are you really being abused, used, under valued? If you are, why are you allowing that to happen? How is that serving you? Are you getting false acceptance from this behavior? Maybe you would like to change it but don’t know how. It is okay, just notice it for now and that you want to do something different. Keep that awareness and see how things shift. If you aren’t feeling abused, etc. then why are you letting yourself get worked up about it? Is it keeping you from looking at the real issue for yourself?

Allow every moment, no matter how hard, to be a moment of reflection for yourself. Rather than resist it and try to get out of it, embrace it. Let it teach you. You are already suffering, why not get some value out of it. It is like sitting in a laundry mat waiting for your clothes to dry, might as well do something valuable, like read that book you haven’t gotten around to, while you are there. Why waste a good opportunity to learn.

Happy healing.

Fear – “I am over it” HA!

Sep 09
2009

IMG_2204Okay, we have all heard the phrase “There is nothing to fear by fear itself.” But doesn’t it seem like a life long process to get past our fears. It starts when we are babies and continues through our life, dictating our actions and keeping us stuck in the search for peace from it. If you think you are fearless, please share in the comments, I would love to hear your story.

Of course, the path I have chosen I am always healing, clearing, allowing, embracing, etc. All of that new agey stuff. :) But what most blocks in our ability to manifest boils down to is fear. Fear of something… maybe not always obvious, that is keeping us from having what we think we want. For some reason we fear having it. For example, most of us would love an abundance of money, so why don’t we all have the abundance of money? Some people fear having money means people will only like them for this side of themselves and want to be loved authentically. Other people fear that having money means you stole it from someone else in some underhanded way. Even more people don’t believe they deserve large amounts of money because no one around them seems to have it. Either way… this is all fear. Fear, keeping you for allowing something into your life.

The reason I am blogging about this topic is because I get gentle reminders from the universe all the time on things that I think I have let go of the fear of. One of my fears (based on a past-life) is around taking medication. It could be herbs even. I have a serious aversion to it and even feel like I am dying for the first few days I start something new. I know this about myself, so I don’t run around like a crazy person claiming I am dying, but I sure have to work on releasing it and allowing it to go through me. I took a short cut on my healing with a sinus/ear thing I had going on and went on antibiotics. I choose to fulfill my obligations to family and life rather than honor my body’s wish to lay in bed and clear myself for a week or so. Ironically enough, I am teaching a class on this in a couple of weeks call Creating Mind Body Unity where we will talk about these choices further.

I mustered up the courage to take these pills, despite reading all of the horrible, possible side effects. I had conquered this fear! So far, six days in, I am okay. However, I ran into a mom at my kids school who tells me about her husband being very sick (he is better now) with drug induced hepatitis and having to have his gallbladder removed. She tells me the story and then of course I have to ask, “what medication was he on”. EEK! It OF COURSE was the same drug I am taking and she then tells me the horror stories about this drug. This poked at the deep seated fear inside of me so hard I couldn’t concentrate!  This showed me I clearly hadn’t processed all of the fear within me yet. If I had, I wouldn’t have hardly noticed this conversation. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t even have had it, as the universe always brings me what I need to hear. So back to the awareness board on this one.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

What are you afraid of, little or big? How is it limiting your life? It may even been the fear of success or having money as we discussed above. It might be fear of having a good relationship.

Take a moment to think one of your fears through. Journal about it or meditate on it. What is the fear? How long have you had it? Can you trace it back to a past experience that happened (that isn’t happening now by the way)? What is the worst thing that could happen if your fear manifested? (we often do manifest our fears just to face them head on) What is the best thing that could happen if your fear manifested? Give yourself permission to notice this fear this week. Not with the intention of letting go of it, but just to be aware of how much it is involved in your daily life. Just by observing it, you can change your relationship to it.

Share your stories. You might help someone else change their life!

Have a mindful week!

Chakra Communication – First and Third

Jun 03
2009

waterdamage The picture is of a cave that has slowly had part of it eroded away by water. This is a great way to think of your energy blocks. As you notice, question and explore, your energy becomes more open. Free if you will. But not all at once, and not everywhere. It is first, as with water, in the easy routes, then as you demand more room, you start to dig deeper. Eventually your energy with be as vast as the Grand Canyon.

Again, if you aren’t familiar with chakras, read my first explanations of first and third chakras in the past blogs, or check out some info on the web.

This blog is about the communication between your survival space and grounding (first chakra) and your manifesting (third chakra).  It is about the ability to manifest in life and have power over your ability to survive or be safe. It is trusting that you will always have what ever you NEED. Always have, always will do that for yourself. You can’t help it. It is whether you know it or not that is the question. Because once you know it, you can manifest what you WANT too.

One thing I read on people here is parents “protective” words embedded deeply in the pathways. As we grow up, our parents try and keep us safe, often times telling us to leave it up to them rather than trust ourselves. This takes our power away and we begin to doubt our own abilities to keep ourselves safe. This is done out of love of course, but a lot of times we end up with issues in trusting ourselves to keep ourselves safe. We start to seek our external validation for our choices. Asking questions like, should I date this person, buy this house, take the job, etc. Why we think the person external from ourselves knows better than we do… it the key to understanding how your energy flows here.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Start to notice how much you trust yourself to keep yourself safe. This could be in regards to anything but the biggie is money. Do you trust yourself to manifest the money you need, always and forever? If not, why not? If so… good for you!

Do you trust yourself to walk down a dark alley alone? This may sound like a silly one, but if you really trusted yourself, you would be able to tune in, find out if this was a safe choice, make it with confidence and proceed without fear. If you doubt your ability to know if there is a bad guy waiting to steal your wallet… then notice why. Where does this thought process come from and does it make sense?  If it does… then hang on to it, but if you notice it isn’t your idea of the world, just programming, then let it go.

This week, notice where you trust yourself to manifest safety and security and where you don’t. This can take many forms, so be open to the manifesting what you need link and see what comes up. As always, I encourage you to comment or visit my Facebook fan page and start a discussion.

Journey through YOUR energy System: Part 1 – Root Chakra

Nov 14
2008

Some of you reading are VERY familiar with the chakra system with your body and some of you aren’t. I am going to go with assuming you know something about it (as you can research it practically anywhere). I am going to spend then next 7 weeks or so giving you my thoughts on how to inspire the chakras to balance and function to support you. (there are actually 12 chakras, but I am going to stick with the body here) My inspriation to you is going to be to start an notice your chakras and see what you can mainifest in yourself by paying attention to them more.

So, let’s start with the Root chakra. This is the chakra that is at the base of your spine and in its ideal state spins, clockwise at a red color.  This is where you store information about survival.

What I have found in this chakra as I have read people is mostly about money, home life, loosing children, and loss in general. I have seen all kinds of things stir up someone’s survival space that you may not expect. But primarily, you can think of it this way… what do you think you couldn’t survive without? Food, water and air are obvious answers. But really think about this question.

Children end up in here not because we are protecting them with our chakra, but because we feel WE wouldn’t survive loosing one of them. Other people end up in there if they are telling us we can’t survive on our own, IF we believe what they are saying and buy into the picture. Loss ends up in there for many underlying reason, but primarily it is because you feel you won’t survive without it.

This chakra is really helpful to clear out and balance. Especially if you experience a lot of fear or anxiety.

Here is the inspiration a step further. Ask youself what you base your survival on and then pick apart this thing. What WOULD happen if you had no money? Do you really needed it, or perhaps you just need the things money brings to you like shelter, food and water, etc.? What if you had to do without it, would you still survive? Probably… so dig in there. See what you allow to bog down this chakra and get you all worked up about. Nothing is as important as we make it. Especially if we are feeling disconnected, weary, scared, or just bad. Dig into the lies you tell yourself and see if you can let go of some of them.

It made me feel so much better. If I am more detached about things, it doesn’t mean I won’t miss it if it is gone, but I don’t let it rob me of my present happiness. I also don’t let it throw me off kilter completely if I do lose it. I morn the loss, clear out that thing from my space and move forward.

Are you hanging on to something that you think IS affecting your survival right now?  What would happen if you just let it go? What value do you have on keeping it in your space? Do you really want to let it go? Notice how the base of your spine feels when you ask yourselves these questions. (I am guessing a lot of you are also lighting up your third chakra…power…in your stomach, but we can discuss that later). Just notice. Don’t make it a problem….just NOTICE.

I love you all, thanks for reading and good luck!
