Perspective – Can you change yours?

treThe law of attraction talks about the fact that what is in your life is what you have attracted into your life by magnetizing yourself to it. All other things are not in match with your vibration. But how do you get in alignment with that vibration is the big question of having more of what you want out of life.  “How?!” is a very popular question I get from my clients. “I get what I am suppose to do, but HOW do I do it?” A lot of times it is hard to get out from where you are, because where you are is what you know. It is the reason poverty, abuse, alcoholism, etc. runs in families. Despite your effort to vibrate away from the patter, it is what they know and it is hard to vibrate to something you don’t, even if you consciously try.

It is about changing your perspective of where you are at, not a trap you are in, but a gift of clarity on some issue. Work where you are at first, consciously acknowledging what you have and who you are and what is standing in your way of letting it be different. Acknowledge yourself and your belief system. I had a friend say “I don’t have  cancer, YET.” EEK! She acknowledged that she believes she believes she is susceptible to cancer and that her thoughts about this, might just attract it to her. But how does she change that belief, when she really believes it? She could pretend she doesn’t believe it, but she still does!  Rather than trying to change her belief just by switching it off, she should see how this belief is serving her. Maybe it helps her feel like she is in control of her fears because she acknowledges them. Maybe it helps her feel more aware of her body, because she is keeping an eye on the risk factors. In some way this belief is serving her. If she could service that need in another way, she could let go of the belief.

Another thing to consider is what you believe has a lot to do with who and where you are right now. But if you lived in a different city, worked a different joy, had a different set of relationships, this would impact your perspective on your life.  This is why people talk about getting away from it all to “get perspective”. It truly does help to step back and view things from another angle. You can do this without going to another country by the way, but sometimes new cultures and ways of living do help!

Insightful Inspirations for the week

See if you can seek out a new perspective on something this week. Pick a topic you know is no longer serving you but you can’t let go of. Then just observe it. Rather than trying to change it, look at it from different angles. Ask yourself what need is being fulfilled here. (trust me there is one or you wouldn’t do it) Will you service that need in a different way? What would your life had been like up until now if you hadn’t thought this way? (thinking all the way back to childhood) What would you life be like with out it.

Create some space for this belief by stepping away from it anyway you can. People who support it, situations that reinforce the belief. Take a vacation from it, if only for an hour. Let yourself be an observer of it, rather than living IN it.

Then share with me what happened! Did it work? Did you change your perspective on it? Maybe at the end of it all you decide you still want it or maybe it just shifts on its own. Either Way, by observing it, you change your relationship with it and get to have it be more of what you want out of it.

Have an enlightened week.
